About
Queere Kunst Regensburg is a colourful association by and for queer people of all ages and backgrounds, with the aim of creating a safe space where everyone feels welcome. Therefore we have been meeting every Friday, since the group was founded in August 2022, to create art together in an open and friendly atmosphere. To ensure that we are accessible to everyone, we refrain from any form of consumption, especially alcohol.
We are allowed to use the atelier of the W1 - Centre for Young Culture for our art group meetings, which has made us an integral part of the building in the heart of Regensburg. However, our origins lie in the PLK, which is still one of our favourite meeting places in the summer when the W1 is closed.
At our meetings, we sometimes realise joint projects, work on our own artworks or teach each other new skills and crafts. In addition, we now often have a table at various festivals, protests and markets, where we sell our own linoprints, stickers and buttons in return for donations. The money donated is used exclusively to maintain the group and finance new projects.
Since January 2025, the art group has also been an association, which gives us a little more seriousness and allows us greater freedom of action, especially when it comes to finances.
As Queere Kunst Regensburg, we stand for diversity of opinion and tolerance and take a strong stance against hate and hate speech. Extremism and intolerance have no place with us and will not be accepted.
